As Beauties for a Cause, the Miss Earth USA organization selects nonprofit initiatives around the United States that fit with our mission to promote environmental preservation and positive attitudes for women and girls.
Comfort Bears in a Catastrophe aims to provide hope and comfort to children impacted by disasters. The organization provides each child in need with a special Comfort Bear, along with a handwritten note of encouragement, to let them know that they are not alone. Connecting with fire and police departments as well as the American Red Cross, Comfort Bears focuses on children impacted by disasters around the United States.

On July 15, Teen Miss Earth USA Tayan Stansfield and Miss Earth USA Danielle Mullins visited the Comfort Bears headquarters in Phoenix, where they worked with nonprofit director Ariel Sorensen, state director Joen Ramirez-Martinez and Comfort Bears coordinator Mimi Hymel. The team of volunteers prepared over 50 bears with encouraging notes, then distributed them to the local American Red Cross.
This partnership will extend beyond the work of national titleholders. At the 2024 Miss Earth USA national pageant, all delegates will bring a bear and tag with a special message, delivering these gifts to Orlando local disaster aid support.
Current state delegates will be challenged with opportunities in their own communities to impact the nonprofit initiative and give directly to children in their community.

Known as Beauties for a Cause®, Miss Earth® empowers women through community leadership, eco-tourism, and environmental education. Miss Earth is known as the planet’s most relevant beauty event, including nearly 100 countries each year attending international festivities, which will take place this year in Vietnam.
Recognized as a charitable organization with 501(C)(3) tax exempt status, the pageant’s nonprofit B4ACUSA Foundation provides scholarships and grants to participants. Each of the state delegates conducts home state environmental projects and brings awareness to local issues and organizations.

State pageants, appointed titles and partnerships are now enrolling for 2023. Miss Earth USA has been ranked in the United States as one of the top pageants for women and girls, as well as award-winning accolades for leadership and production.
